BASIC FIRST AID COURSE OVERVIEW
First aid:
It is the primary assistance or treatment given at the site of an accident to the personnel who is injured or suddenly taken ill, before the arrival of the ambulance. The provider of First-Aid should be able to
- Assessment of the situation quickly and calmly,
- dealing with life-threatening situations meanwhile protecting him/her self from danger,
- obtain medical aid and call an ambulance in event of serious injury or illness.
Learning outcomes of Training
- For learners to have knowledge as well as they are able to recognize and respond to a variety of different emergencies.
- For the learner to be able to assist in the event of an emergency that may occur in workplace.
- Understanding first aider’s role and responsibilities
- Able to assess an incident
- Taking care of a non-responsive victim who is breathing normally.
- Taking care of an unresponsive victim who isn't breathing normally.
- Recognizing and assisting a casualty who is choking
- Taking care of a wounded and bleeding victim
- Knowledge on how to deal with a casualty with minor injury.
- Knowledge about how to deal with a variety of situations
